After a 31-hour journey to England, Harry Kane has invited two Tottenham fans from the United States to be his guests at a game.
The fans had traveled to Burnley for the game, only to find out that it had been canceled.
Due to heavy snow, the 2021/2022 English Premier League (EPL) match at Turf Moor was postponed just under an hour before kick-off.
Attempts to clear the pitch began around 90 minutes before the scheduled kick-off time of 2 p.m (1400 GMT), but they were futile.
This was with snow falling as fast as it could be moved.
Ken and Brandi Saxton had documented their journey from Dallas on social media, and Kane reacted quickly when he learned of their exploits on Sunday evening.
“Just been sent this tweet and absolutely gutted for you!” the England star wrote. As a reward for your dedication and to make up for the canceled game, I’d like to invite you to a home game as my guest when you’re next in London.”
Kane’s offer was well received, and Brandi Saxton responded on Twitter, saying, “Well, the husband has officially gone viral, and we’ve personally been invited to watch the Spurs by Harry Kane!!”
