Former governor of Zamfara, Ahmad Yerima, has called for unity in the All Progressives Congress (APC) family in the state, urging those challenging the party’s leadership in the state to stop in the interest of peace.
Yerima made the remarks while receiving newly elected state executives of the party at his residence in Gusau.
The state APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, stated this in a statement issued on Monday in Gusau.
Idris stated that the executives’ visit was to express gratitude to APC stakeholders in the state for the party’s emergence under the chairmanship of Alhaji Tukur-Umar Danfulani.
He assured the executives of his continued support so that they could carry out their responsibilities.
“During the visit, Danfulani promised to lead by example, promising that all loyal members would be fully engaged in party activities,” he explained.
According to Yusuf, the executives also paid visits to former Governor Mahmud Shinkafi, as well as current and former members of the National and State Houses of Assembly.
