China’s GDP is expected to grow by 5.1% year on year in 2022, according to Dong Qi, chief analyst at Guotai Junan Securities, as quoted by the Xinhua-run Shanhai Securities Journal on Tuesday.
According to the journal, Dong forecasts China’s economy will exhibit a W-shaped growth trend in 2022, with an estimated 5.1 percent year on year GDP growth.
According to the chief analyst, China’s economy is currently in the early stages of constructing a “dual circulation” development pattern, and there is no reason to be overly pessimistic about future economic growth.
Looking ahead, he predicted that China’s economy would exhibit a cyclical upward force once more.
According to available data, China’s GDP grew 4.9 percent year on year in the third quarter of 2021, slower than the 18.3 percent growth in the first quarter and 7.9 percent growth in the second quarter.
