LG Election: Ekiti government announces movement restrictions

Gov. Kayode Fayemi

The Ekiti State Government has announced that vehicular movement across the state will be restricted on Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Mr Biodun Omoleye, Chief of Staff to Gov. Kayode Fayemi, stated in a statement issued on Friday in Ado-Ekiti that the restriction is in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the state’s local government elections.

Only those on essential and electoral assignments, according to Omoleye, are exempt from the restriction.

Omoleye went on to say that students taking NECO exams across the state who have valid identification would be allowed to move freely.

He asked the people of the state to work with him to ensure a smooth and peaceful election.

Omoleye reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the safety of every citizen of the state before, during, and after the election.
