Buhari expresses condolences for Wushishi, describing him as a “thoroughbred professional soldier”

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences on the death of retired Gen. Inuwa Wushishi, Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff.

This is contained in a condolence message released on Sunday in Abuja by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu.

Buhari mourned the loss of “a thoroughbred professional soldier, an officer, and a gentleman whose contributions to the fatherland are immeasurable.”

“Gen. Wushishi had a distinguished military career, and we are proud of his impressive service to the country,” the President said.

“Gen. Wushishi was an epitome of discipline and service, and he was a role model for both officers and rank and file.”

Buhari expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family, the Nigerian Army, as well as the government and people of Niger.
