The Post-Pregnancy Family Planning Project (PPFP), the Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH), and the Health Facility Monitoring Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) have collaborated to create an online platform to improve effective knowledge sharing on health-related issues.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, an online platform titled Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent Healthcare and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) web of resources was launched on Tuesday in Lagos.

The platform, which would be hosted on HEFAMAA’s website, would provide healthcare providers with easy access to current information on healthcare services and best practices.

Speaking about the project, Dr. Omotunde Odunye, Technical Officer for Service Delivery at PPFP, stated that the initiative was intended to defend the private sector’s use of a web of resources.

Odunye stated that the platform would allow them to easily access resources and submit data.

“Previously, they submitted data on paper, but with this platform, it is easier, faster, and less problematic.”

“This development will be sustainable as long as all stakeholders collaborate to ensure continuous upgrades,” she stated.

Mrs. Abosede Adekunle, Head ICT, HEFAMAA, also spoke, stating that the Lagos State Government was capable of sustaining the project.

Adekunle also advised PPFP to support the project for the next two years in order for it to be a complete success.

“The platform will be useful in the health sector; we tested it and made the necessary changes.”

“It will benefit both the state government and the private sector healthcare providers,” she said.

Mrs. Aigbogun Florence, one of the project’s beneficiaries, stated that the project had increased knowledge and raised awareness about family planning.

“With my experience in the health sector, we want this project to be sustained because it has been one of the best and we want it to stay,” Florence said.

According to NAN, the web of resources can be accessed at www.lagosrmncahn.ng.
