The Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, says it has generated over N511.2 million as revenue from January to October.
Acting Chief Medical Director, OOUTH, Dr Bunmi Fatungase, disclosed this on Monday in Abeokuta while defending the hospital’s 2022 budget proposal before the Ogun Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation.
Fatungase explained that the revenue was generated from earnings from medical services, contractor registration fees, administration fees and charges, sales of bills of entries and rent on government quarters among others.
Dr Bunmi stated that the teaching hospital proposed to generate N758.2 million in 2022.
She stated that the hospital’s budget proposal for 2022 is N6.8 billion with N3.8 billion for recurrent expenditure and N3 billion as capital expenditure.
“The hospital has earmarked N12.4 million for the accreditation of some clinical departments in the teaching hospital such as Pediatrics, Medicine, Surgery, Opthalmology and family medicine,” she said.
Fatungase said the hospital proposed N506.7 million for the construction of administrative block which would have offices, auditorium, board rooms and committee rooms.
She added that the hospital would spend N83 million on upgrading of it’s diagnostic and acute care facilities in 2022.
