The Kaduna State Fire Service says it has recorded 62 fire outbreaks and three deaths in November across the state.
Director, State Fire Service, Mr Paul Aboi, stated this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kaduna.
According to Aboi, the Service rescued three persons while eight others sustained injuries from the incidents.
“The Service saved property worth about N1.1 billion from destruction while property worth N202 million destroyed within the period under review,’’ he said.
Aboi stated that the Kaduna metropolis recorded the highest number of fire outbreaks 33, Zaria 26 and Kafanchan three.
According to Aboi, the outbreaks were caused by carelessness and improper use of electrical appliances
The Director who said that the Service was doing its best to reduce fire outbreak by educating residents on fire safety measures urged residents to take preventive measures to avert fire disasters.
According to him, harmattan season comes with a lot of winds, hence the need to enhance sensitisation to remind residents to be more cautious.
