Two men, Segun Adeyanju and Suleiman Adau, have appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ court in Lagos, accused of stealing valuables worth N365,000.
On Tuesday, the defendants appeared before Magistrate Ademola Adesanya on a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, and receiving stolen items.
However, both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
ASP Simeon Uche, the prosecutor, told the court that they committed the crime on December 7 at the Iyana-Iba bus stop in Ojo Lagos.
He claimed that the first defendant stole a N250, 000 think pad laptop, an N45, 000 voice recorder, a N20,000 power bank, a N50,000 Android phone, an Access Bank ATM card, and a BBC press identity card.
All of the items are said to be owned by one Mr Sheu Ellemon, according to him.
Meanwhile, the second defendant is charged with receiving the stolen goods.
The offenses violate sections 287, 328, and 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws of 2015.
The defendants were granted bail in the sum of N150, 000 each, with two sureties in the same amount.
He adjourned the case until Jan. 24, 2022, for mention.
