The Bauchi State Government says it is committed to the well-being of the state’s athletes and the provision of equipment that will help them succeed in sporting competitions.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaji Adamu Manu-Soro, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Bauchi.
Manu-Soro stated that the ministry would soon form a committee to investigate the issues confronting athletes in order to devise long-term solutions.
He referred to sport as a “lucrative industry,” and he urged stakeholders to support sporting activities in order to achieve long-term growth in the sector.
According to the Commissioner, Gov. Bala Mohammed’s administration has taken proactive measures to encourage sports development in the state.
According to Manu-Soro, approximately 138 athletes from the state competed in the 6th National Youth Games in Illorin and won prestigious awards.
