Oluwatobi Falope, 24, was charged with stealing roofing sheets in an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
ASP Abdullahi Emmanuel, the Prosecutor, told the court that the defendant committed the crime on December 14, 2021, around 07:00 p.m., at the Salvation Army Primary School in Oke-Atan, Ile-Ife.
According to Emmanuel, the defendant stole some roofing sheets worth N25,000 from the Salvation Army Primary School in Ile-Ife.
Falope, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty to a single count of stealing.
According to the prosecutor, the offense violated Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Mr. J. O. Amole, the Defense Counsel, applied for bail in the most liberal terms possible, promising that his client would not jump bail but would provide reliable sureties.
Magistrate O. B. Adediwura granted the accused bail in the amount of N50,000 with one surety in the same amount.
Adediwura ordered that the surety swear to an affidavit of means, live within the jurisdiction of the court, and have his address verified.
In addition, the surety must show a valid identification card and three recent passport photographs.
She postponed the case until January 12, 2022.
