Ekiti United Feeder Team set for first friendly
By Idowu Gabriel
After about two weeks of screening potential players of Ekiti United Feeder Team, the players are set to play their first friendly match.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the friendly match, slated for Dec.17 at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, at 4 p.m., will be against Ifaki United Football Club.
Ekiti United Team Manager, Adedeji Adu, told newsmen on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti that the match was to further assess the crop of players already penciled down to form the nucleus of the squad.
According to him, the match will also help the Coach Mayowa Afolabi led-coaching crew to see that the retained players were in good match condition.
NAN reports that the team was recently formed by management of Ekiti United FC to discover, nurture and produce young players who would fit into the plan of the main team in the nearest future.
NAN also reports that Afolabi was named as Head Coach of Ekiti United Feeders Team to be assisted by Coach Femi Kumuyi.
The duo have since swung into action by inviting young players for screening, while quite a number of the players were being assessed and tutored for better performances.
