Rev. Yakubu Pam, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), has urged the commission’s staff to be dedicated to their duties and to put God first in all circumstances.
Pam gave the advice at the commission’s Christmas Carol on Saturday in Abuja.
The executive secretary congratulated the staff on the commission’s accomplishments in 2021 and urged them to strive for even greater success in 2022.
He hoped that in the coming years, they would all be able to sing a new song of victory.
Pam stated that the commission has every reason to be proud of the accomplishments it achieved in 2021 despite the COVID-19 restrictions.
He stated that one of the accomplishments documented was the successful management of the first pilgrimage to Jordan.
“I’m optimistic that through a dedicated and committed workforce, the commission will become a model for other government agencies,” he added.
Pam used the occasion to advise the staff to be their brother’s keeper and to avoid any act that might cause them to disagree.
The executive secretary also urged them to avoid unhealthy competition and rivalry and to collaborate as God’s family.
Pam stated in his exaltation from the book of Isaiah: 9:6-7 that Christmas was meant to exalt the name of Jesus Christ, emulate him, and put faith in God.
“God had a heavenly agenda for you,” he told the commission’s staff. “But you must learn to cast your burdens on His shoulder.”
He believes that God allows people to face difficulties in order to strengthen them.
He went on to say that anyone who hasn’t faced life’s challenges won’t be able to fulfill his destiny.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Christmas Carol featured various renditions by the NCPC Choir and Bible readings by staff members.
Rev. Jidda Gelengu, the Federal Commissioner representing the North East in the commission, as well as all directors and management staff, graced the Christmas carol.
