Alhaji Sa’idu Alkali, Senator for Gombe North, has distributed empowerment goods worth millions of Naira to his constituents.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the items distributed included 50 cars, 500 motorcycles, 600 sewing machines and refrigerators, hand pumps for dry season farming, threshers for rice and maize processing, and other items to 1,000 farmers in Gombe on Sunday.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, the senator stated that the gesture is his way of thanking his constituents for electing him to a third term in the Senate.
He stated that in his 2021 constituency projects, he built classroom blocks, healthcare facilities, and provided water and road projects in the five LGAs he represents: Dukku, Gombe, Kwami, Funakaye, and Nafada.
Gov. Inuwa Yahaya thanked the senator for empowering his constituents and expressed hope that the empowerment items would improve the lives of his constituents.
He also urged the people of Gombe North Senatorial District to re-elect him in 2023 so that they could reap more democratic dividends.
The Senate President, Alhaji Ahmad Lawan, who attended the event as a special guest of honor, praised Gov. Yahaya and Senator Sa’idu Alkali for making such a positive difference in people’s lives.
Constituency projects, he added, are important because they allow constituents to experience the benefits of democracy.
