Mr Victor Walsh, National Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress Volunteers Group, has called on all Nigerians to work together to rebuild the country in the spirit of the Christmas season.

Walsh, in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by his Media Adviser, Mr Akin Makanjuola, also urged Nigerians to embrace peace and unity, which he described as the “foundation of every great nation.”

He also urged the government to step up its economic development and welfare programs in order to raise people’s living standards.

He urged the group’s members to remain patriotic and focused.

“We are the agents of change that Nigeria requires at this critical juncture; we are here to heal the land and mobilize Nigerians for the noble task of peace building, reconciliation, and reconstruction,” Walsh said.

While congratulating Christians on Christmas, he urged misguided people committing evil in the bush to lay down their arms and come to the negotiating table, saying that violence has never solved any human problem.

Walsh promised to use the holiday season to meet with Nigerians in diaspora to brainstorm on how to move the country forward and create a positive image for the country abroad.

He also stated that he would use the opportunity to brainstorm ways to persuade Nigerians to embrace the concept of (Volunteerism) as a means of national reconstruction, reconciliation, and peace building.
