In three months, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone B Strike Force apprehended contraband valued at approximately N854 million Duty Paid Value (DPV).
The Customs Coordinator in charge of Kano and Jigawa, Deputy Comptroller Oseni Olorukooba, who made the announcement, stated that smugglers no longer have a “safe haven” to commit heinous acts.
He stated that among the items seized were two vehicles, 413 bags of foreign rice, and 382 bales of used clothing.
150 cartons of macaroni, 200 cartons of spaghetti, and 638 cartons of foreign shoes in various sizes for children, men, and women are also included.
He urged the media to continue informing the public about the dangers of bringing prohibited items into the country.
The coordinator also reaffirmed the unit’s determination to combat smuggling.
Olorukuba also praised the officers and men of the service for achieving the successes recorded during the review period.
