The Dangote Group of Company has requested that the FRSC remove a truck that is impeding traffic flow on the Kabbah-Obajana-Lokoja road in Kogi.

Mr Samuel Odukoya, Dangote’s Traffic Controller, made the request in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Odukoya stated that the DAF truck, registered FKY117X and loaded with planks, broke down in front of the Dangote office in Obajana.

He stated that the corps’s quick response was required to clear the expressway traffic gridlock.

“In fact, the road is closed as we speak. Vehicles, particularly our (Dangote) trucks, are not permitted to enter or exit our office.

“FRSC personnel must come to our aid, as they always do when such a challenge arises on this busy expressway.”

“It is sad that most people blame our truck drivers for bottleneck at Obajana, which is not the case, as shown by the broken down truck carrying boards,” Odukoya remarked.

When contacted, Mr Solomon Agure, the State Sector Commander of the FRSC in Kogi, said he had been informed of the blockade on the Kabbah-Obajana-Lokoja Expressway.

“We were just alerted of the jam, and our men who are on patrol on the road will be there shortly to address the regrettable occurrence.”

“Removing a broken-down truck from the road is not as simple as it is with a car.

“In this case, the truck’s head must be removed first, followed by the body, which is loaded with planks.”

“All we ask is that other motorists and road users be patient while we remove the truck from the road to allow free flow of traffic,” Agure said.
