Segiru Nasiru, a motorcyclist, was docked in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday for allegedly causing the death of a 49-year-old man.
Nasiru, 18, whose address was not given, was charged with reckless driving and causing death.
Nasiru, on the other hand, denied committing the crime.
Sgt. Olasunkanmi Adejumola, the Prosecution Counsel, told the court that the defendant committed the crime on December 18 at Capitol Road, Oke-Koto, Agege, Lagos State.
He claimed that the defendant was riding his Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKM 605 W recklessly on the highway, resulting in the death of a pedestrian, Mr Sikiru Habib.
He claimed that the offense violated Section 52 of the Lagos State Road Traffic Law and Regulations, 2018.
Magistrate O.A. Odubajo granted the defendant bail in the amount of N500,000 with two sureties in the same amount.
