The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), says it has concluded plans for the investiture of its 16th President, Chief Jasper Nduagwuike, on Feb. 5, 2022.
The Director General of ECCIMA, Mr Henry Awuregu, made this known in a pre-investiture press conference held in Enugu on Monday.
Awuregu said that the investiture event would also feature awards to captains of industries and the in-coming new President for exceptional performance in commerce, industry, mines and agriculture over the years.
“In the course of the investiture of a new President of ECCIMA every two years, outstanding industrialists and those who have impacted on the economy and future of the South-East and indeed Nigeria are recognised as recipients of our Key-Man Award.
“This award is given to entrepreneurs who by their operations have distinguished themselves as people of intellectual and business prowess that have steered their various enterprises to be very best in its sector.
“These persons must be people who have the respect and regards of society, unblemished by any vice, thorough professionals and acclaimed managers of men and materials.
“The chamber has completed a rather rigorous process of choosing from a pool of recommendations the winners and wish to inform the general public that the following persons won the 2021 Key-Man Awards in their respective categories:
“Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke for Best Private University East of the Niger; Chief Cyril Ajagu for Best in Portfolio Investment and Mr Humphrey Ngonadi for Best in Manufacturing.
“Others are Sir Kingsley Eze, for Best in Innovation and ICT; Chief Cosmas Agu for Best in Metal Technology and Dr Paulinus Ozonnagbo for Best in Service and Distribution.
“We wish to welcome the new recipients into a forum where we already have the likes of Dr Emeka Okwuosa, Dr Samuel Onyishi, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah, Mrs Nkechi Obi, Mr Anayo Onwuegbu etc,” he said.
Reacting, Nduagwuike, who is currently the first Deputy President of the chamber and in-charge of Trade Fairs, said that God’s willing he would introduce innovative ideals to move the chamber forward during his tenure.
He appealed for the support of the members and stakeholders of ECCIMA to make his “new and practical vision” for the chamber a reality leading to the repositioning of fortunes and growth of the chamber.
“It is clear that we have to think outside the box and do things differently to achieve better results that would place ECCIMA as the leading chamber in the country, as I take up the mantle of leadership,” Nduagwuike said
