Sen. Aisha Binani, (APC) representing Adamawa central, has installed Solar powered panels at Adamawa State office of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Mr. Muhammed Kabir, Coordinator, Senator Binani Solar Programme, inaugurated the project on Monday in Yola.
Kabir said that the project was under Binani’s constituency projects in Adamawa central senatorial zone.
“So far, under the Senator Aisha Binani’s constituency projects, we installed over 3,000 Solar powered lights in various communities
“Also, we installed the solar powered lights in most of the Federal and state Agencies, Worship places and various media Organisations in the state.
“The effort is to improved security around Government, media offices and worship places,” Kabir said.
Responding, Mr. Ishaku Dedan, Chairman state council of the NUJ, thanked the Senator for the wonderful gesture.
“The only female Senator from the North East region has done very well in providing dividends of democracy in her constituency.
“In fact many Media Organisations in the state have benefited from the Solar powered lights,” Dedan said.
He urged other politicians in the state to emulate Binani’s gesture.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the benefiting media houses include Pulaku FM Yola, Radio ABC, Adamawa State Broadcasting Corporation and Adamawa Press Limited, publishers of Weekly Scope Newspaper.
Others are NTA, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Fombina FM Radio, Adamawa Television Authority, Gotel TV and Radio and AIT Yola station.
