The FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Aliyu, has been commended by some residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), across the six Area Councils.
According to the reports, some of the residents applauded Aliyu for her determination to entrench the culture of good governance in the territory.
They also saluted the giant stride, uncommon ways, courage and patriotism, and commitment demonstrated by Aliyu towards ensuring the socio-economic development of the territory.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the weekend, Mr Danlami Bawa, a resident of Durumi in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), commended the minister for embarking on a fact-finding tour of all the six area councils in the FCT.
Bawa said the minister’s commitment has demonstrated her determination to determine the actual position of things before she assumed office as Minister of State for the FCT.
He also applauded her intervention in abandoned projects and the inadequacy of funds to fully prosecute many projects designed to serve the people, especially at the grassroots in the council areas.
Similarly, Bawa lauded Aliyu’s efforts towards achieving President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty by personally ensuring that the FCT administration inaugurated an aquaculture centre for women and youths in Kwali Area Council, under her supervision.
A resident of the Bwari Area Council, Mr Andrew Philimon, also described the minister’s achievement in agriculture and tourism as outstanding.
According to him, her bold step in the inauguration of a Ministerial Committee to determine modalities for procurement of fertilisers and agricultural inputs for the 2021 farming season was a total breakthrough for agriculture and farming in the rural areas.
Similarly, a resident of Kubwa, Mr Simon Obioma, said the minister deserved more accolades for her intervention and sympathies to victims of the Kubwa market fire incident, Kugbo, and the recent Next Cash N Carry supermarket.
