The African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is currently on, and one of the matches that took place today was between the reigning champions and Sierra Leone.
The match was a difficult one for Algeria as they were held to a goalless draw by Sierra Leone in their opening Group E fixture.
While Algeria dominated the match, they were however unable to pass through Sierra Leone’s defence.
On the other hand, Sierra Leone, who made their third AFCON finals and their first since 1996, Sierra Leone were close to finding behind the post.
The second half was all about Algeria, yet Mohamed Kamara pulled off some excellent saves to deny Yacine Brahimi and Manchester City’s Mahrez.
Sierra Leone and Algeria are in the same group as Côte d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea, which is considered as one of the most challenging groups.
