Gov. Yahaya Bello celebrates Lawan as he clocks 63

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has congratulated President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, on his 63rd birthday, extolling his virtues, selflessness, patriotism, commitment to duty and service to humanity.

Bello made this known in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, on Wednesday.

According to him, Nigerians were proud of Lawan’s patriotism, putting national interest above everything.

The governor lauded Lawan for maintaining a cordial relationship between the National Assembly and the Executive arm which has helped President Muhammadu Buhari in actualising most of his administration’s campaign promises to Nigerians.

“On behalf of my family, the People and Government of Kogi, I wish to congratulate Your Excellency on the occasion of your 63rd birthday anniversary.

“I must say that Nigerians are indeed proud of your rare display of patriotism and selflessness by ensuring that you always place national interest as uppermost in your leadership style as President of the Nigerian Senate.

“As a high-ranking senator, who has been in the National Assembly since the return of Nigeria’s democracy in 1999, you have helped in the deepening and strengthening of the country’s fledgling democracy,” he said.

Bello further stated that under Lawan’s leadership, many bills and motions that would have far-reaching impacts on the socio-economic and political developments of our great country had been passed.

He noted that key amongst the bills was the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and the Electoral Amendment Bill.

“While I wish you well as you clock another year, I urge you to continue to work for the overall growth and development of the country in the years ahead.

“Happy Birthday, Your Excellency,” Bello stated.
