The new Commissioner of Police for Benue, Wale Abass, has assumed duty in the state on Monday.
This is contained in a statement issued in Makurdi by the command’s Spokesperson, SP Sewuese Anene, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Abass took over from Mr Akingbola Olatunji, who was recently promoted to the rank of an Assistant Inspector-General.
Anene stated that he was appointed a Cadet Assistant Superintendent in March 1990 and mas held different positions that cut across various departments in the force.
According to her, the new police commissioner holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Political Science as well as a Master’s Degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.
