The Gwagwaran Katsina Foundtion (GKF), a Non-Governmental Organisation, has donated text books to junior, senior and community secondary schools in Batagarawa Local Government of Katsina State.
The Chairman, Board of Directors of the Foundation, Dr Dikko Radda, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Batagarawa on Monday.
He stated that the books covered all the subjects for secondary schools.
The Chairman explained that the books were meant to prepare the students for their WAEC, NECO, NABTEB examinations among others.
According to him, GKF donated 5,000 books to all the secondary school students.
“This, we believe, will compliment the state government efforts in the development of education under Gov. Masari’s” Restoration Agenda,” he said.
Radda noted that students have abandoned the reading culture, hence the falling standard of education. Therefore, “we stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to arrest the situation.”
He directed that the books be distributed across the 19 public and community schools in the local government area.
