The Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) has said that its membership in the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) provides it the opportunity to improve its service delivery. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that ITPN was recently admitted into ACCI after rigorous vetting by the Chamber.
ITPN president, Chief Abiodun Odusanwo, said in a statement on Friday in Abuja that the institute would utilise the expertise in ACCI to contribute more to the development of the nation’s tourism industry.
“Membership of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce will afford the institute the opportunity of being on a wider platform. The platform will air the views and opinion of the institute on behalf of the travel tourism, hospitality and its related trades both the FCT and the country at large,” he said.
NAN reports that ACCI was established in 1986 with the objective of protecting the interest of commerce and industry in which tourism plays a major role. It also aims to promote economic and industrial development in FCT in particular and the nation as a whole.
ITPN is a vocational and tertiary level professional organisation established to supply the nation’s tourism industry with professionals.
