Plateau United Football Club of Jos on Sunday recorded a resounding victory over Kano Pillars in their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match played in Kaduna.
Kano Pillars who are currently playing their home matches in Kaduna were shocked in the 82nd minute when Sunday Anthony well-placed header found the back of the net.
Despite creating numerous goalscoring chances, Kano Pillars were unable to convert much to the disappointment of their fans and officials.
The supporters did not fail to express their anger, and at a point tension was so palpable that the club’s Chief Coach, Salisu Yusuf, had to be shielded from being attacked.
NAN reports that Kano Pillars drew at home with Remo Stars of Ikenne during their matchday 10 fixture and lost to Dakkada FC on matchday 11.
Plateau United are now second on the league table with 24 points, behind Rivers Utd with 25 points, while Kano Pillars are now in the 14th position with 14 points.
