The judge gave the defendant an option of fine of N10,000 or five months imprisonment for stealing.
Suleiman ordered the convict to pay the complainant a compensation of N180, 000 or be ready to spend one year in the correctional centre.
He said that the judgement would serve as a deterrent to those who would want to indulge in such criminal acts.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported at the Laranto Police Station on Feb. 18 by one Ibrahim Sani, the complainant.
Gokwat said that the convict conspired with his friend, now at large, and broke into the shop and stole the sum of N180,000.
According to the prosecutor, the offence is contrary to Sections 58, 331 and 271 of the Plateau Penal Code law.
