Apostle Elijah Jack, the General Overseer of His Divine Redeemed World Ministry, said the church would train 15,000 youths across the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom.
He made this known during a visit by Nigerian Christian Youths Organisation (NCYO) in his office in Onna Local Government Area of the state, on Wednesday.
According to the clergyman, he is committed to serving mankind especially the youths, for them to acquire entrepreneurship skills for their development.
He said that youths would be selected from each of the local government area of the state for the training.
“I have started looking into youths empowerment as a mandate that I must carry out in the society not by compulsion but by doing it because it is important that I should affect lives positively,” Jack said.
Responding, Mr Nse Gabriel, the President of NCYO, outlined the programmes they had embarked on to include providing help for the needy and Apprenticeship programmes for the Disable persons.
Others include, donation of Christian books to schools libraries in the state, youths enlightenment programmes on dangers of drug abuse, alcoholism, cultism, kidnapping and other social vices in the society.
Gabriel while presenting an excellent service award to Jack, disclosed that the group had inaugurated education/welfare endowment fund to generate funds for scholarship and welfare programmes for members.
He said the group magazine would be produced within the year to highlight ideologies and tenets of christian youths in the society.
He announced an inter states prayer conference in Port Harcourt on the theme “Our story shall be different” and requested for financial support from the church to assist them in the programme.
He appreciated the General overseer for demonstrating exemplary leadership laced with human attitude to various persons for the advancement of humanity.
“This indeed testifies to your administrative prowess and transparent honesty, which has not only been heard but seen.
“We will not fail to commend your spiritual upbringing of the youths and other humanitarian gestures towards the less privilege in the society,” he said.
