He gave the advice on Friday during the closing ceremony of 2022 Batch A, Stream I, NYSC inter-platoon sports competition at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Umunna, Bende Local Government Area.
Jingi, who re-emphasised the importance of sports, said it was an integral part of NYSC programme, packaged to engage the corps members in the spirit of oneness.
According to him, the event also serves as a platform to select the best that will represent Abia State NYSC Team for the Director-General’s Sports Competition.
While presenting a trophy and a cash prize to Platoon Three, winners of the football competition, he lauded the corps members for their resilience and team work throughout the competition.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Platoon Three defeated Platoon two by 1-0 to clinch the trophy in a thrilling and pulsating football encounter, while Platoon 10 took the third position.
Also in volleyball ball involving the women, Platoon 10 lifted the cup, after beating Platoon Four by 2-0 in a very entertaining final, while Platoon Six got the third position.
The finalists were presented with prizes amidst excitement and fanfare at the event sponsored by Dr Ndukwe Okechukwu, the General Manager, Abia State Estate Development Agency.
