NRM seeks national prayer, repentance for Nigeria’s progress

A political party, National Rescue Movement (NRM), on Wednesday sought National prayers from Nigerians and repentance from God for a progressive Nigeria.
National Chairman and Caretaker Committee of the party, Abubakar Jikamshi, stated at the NRM’s National Convention in Abuja that the party will help in bringing Nigerians closer to God.
“Fellow Nigerians, party faithfuls, distinguished delegates, ours is not to make promises because promises succeed only in provoking Nigerians.
“However, we will promise and assure Nigerians of only thing – If we repent to God, give charity to the poor, take care of the teeming orphans on our streets and pray to our Lord to obliterate the socio-economic and political crisis in our country, the solution to all the challenges will be handy.
“NRM, therefore, wishes to appeal to all Nigerians of adult age to repent to God and pray like the prayers of these pastors and Imams  for the country’s protection and deliverance of its people.”
Jikamshi said that the prayers of the clerics would be printed in leaflets and distributed to Nigerians to read daily, weekly, monthly or annually or at least once in a life time.
He added that after the convention, NRM would commence the recruitment of credible Nigerians as its members who are concerned, desirous and committed to the project of rescuing Nigerians.
He said that the party’s objective is to build Nigeria to become an egalitarian society where every Nigerian would have equal opportunity to realize his or her potential.
Jikamshi said that the party would also inject a new lease of life to the country and rescue the oppressed and deprived by giving them the hope and opportunity of securing their lives and properties.
He said that no sacrifice was too much for all the other 16 political parties, apart from the major parties, to stand together to rescue Nigeria and its people.
He explained that insecurity, economy, the Forex exchange and prices of petroleum products have never risen as they are today.
According to him, NRM is the alternative that Nigerians are searching for.
“Here it is, open to all Nigerians of goodwill who are genuinely committed to the rescue mission.”
Jikamshi commended INEC and its leadership for initiating the recently signed electoral Act Bill into law.
He said that the party had no iota of doubt that the commission is committed to free, fair and credible elections in 2023.
He extended the party’s heartfelt condolences to the immediate families and Nigerians in general on the unfortunate incidents along the Abuja-Kaduna rail line where lives were lost and others kidnapped.
“May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace, Ameen,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of NRM’s new executives are National Chairman, Isaac Udeh (Imo), National Welfare Officer, Chinedu Obi (Imo), National Vice Chairman, Southeast, Ibeneme Edozie (Anambra), and Deputy National Secretary, Obideke Oklo (Enugu).
Others are Mohammed Gusua, National Secretary, Northeast (Zamfara), Prof. Lawson Ihigwe, National Deputy Chairman, South South, Omobaji Olugbodi, National Vice Chairman, South West, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim, National Vice Chairman, North East, Muhammad Danjuma, National Vice Chairman, North Central.
