Group trains 25 women on ICT skills in Bauchi State

The Chairperson of the group, Dr Fatma Zambuk, stated this at the inauguration of the training exercise on Tuesday in Bauchi.

According to her, the training was designed to expose the participants to simple techniques of digital applications for quality service delivery.

She also revealed that the training would be a continuous exercise to promote participation in the programme.

Zambuk noted that the participants were drawn from Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA) and Faith Based Organisations in the state.

“ICT is paramount and core in our daily activities, especially now that the world has become a global village.

“The training will improve on existing innovations and foster creativity among women in their activities.

“It will expose the participants in using digital apps to enhance their productivity and add value to their work,” she said.

Zambuk who advocated for inclusion of more girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses, said the organisation would hold a special session for the physically challenged persons for all inclusive exercise.

In her remarks, Mrs Zainab Musa, Programme Coordinator, SHE-Tech, said that the programme was being implemented in partnership with Nigerian Women in Information and Technology.
