Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in
Plateau, Mr Nnamdi Ikeh-Akabogu Plateau, says the
corps priortises live-saving above other operations.
Ikeh-Akabogu, the newly promoted Deputy Corps
Commander made this known in a telephone interview
with our reporter in Lokoja on
Saturday.
“My heart bleeds whenever I see victims of road
accidents wailing in pain and sorrow with blood all
around them.
“As a corps commanding officer, the strategies to
fight against motorists recklessness should be
implored to save the lives of innocent souls travelling
on our highways.
“My new promotion is a morale booster to me to put
in all my energy and job experience to bear for the
good of Nigerians,” he said.
He appealed to motorists to guard against over
loading and speeding as well as careless and
dangerous overtaking on the highways to avoid road
accidents.
Ikeh-Akabogu is a 1996 graduate of History from
Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, and holds three
masters degree in History, Public Administration, Law
and Criminal Justice.
He spent more than four years in Plateau, where he
built a-100 sitting capacity hall, named Boboye
Oyeyemi Hall and other infrastructure between 2016
and 2020 before being posted to Jos and later to
Abuja.
He has held various leadership positions in the corps
in his 24 years of service with several publications to
his credit.
