A 27-year-old man, Amos Samson, who allegedly broke into the shop of Ifeanyi Mike and stole musical instruments worth N500,000 was on Monday arraigned in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court.
Samson, a resident of Sabo Tasha Area of Kaduna, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, and burglary.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo told the court that the defendant committed the offenses on March 20 at Ungwan Pama in Kaduna.
He said that the defendant conspired with two others, now at large, and broke into Mike’s shop located at Yakubu Gowon Way, Kaduna, through the ceiling and stole some goods.
The prosecutor said that the defendant and his accomplices stole two guitars, one cello, one saxophone, one flute, and drums all valued at N500,000.
He said that the defendant was apprehended by security guards who saw him putting the instruments in a tricycle while his accomplices ran away.
Leo said that the offenses contravened the provision of Sections 57, 307, and 409 of the Penal Law of Kaduna State, 2017.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel admitted him to bail in the sum of N200, 000, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the hearing in the case till May 22.
