Ogun Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has charged Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fath (NASFAT) Society of Nigeria to deepen youth education to make them employable and job creators.
Salako-Oyedele gave the charge at the 2022 NASFAT Ramadan Lecture held at NASFAT Centre, Aseese, Ogun on Sunday.
“Youths should be educated, undergo trainings to make them suitable for latent opportunities, especially in the formal space where competency determines who gets what.
“As an organisation that has the empowerment of youth and development at heart, NASFAT ought to do more in ensuring that the younger ones aside from acquiring university degrees, professional and skill training are given to them for them to have edge.
“If somebody is empowered, it depicts self confidence to scout for jobs, makes the person available for opportunities that always come; but when people are not prepared, reliance on God cannot get them such opportunities,” she said.
The deputy governor said that NASFAT had done well in changing public perception of the Muslim community positively.
She encouraged the organisation to use its wide influence to enlist more people into its skill trainings to make them employable.
The deputy governor also urged parents to deepen the faith of their children in Islam by ensuring that they part take in religious observance to prevent them from derailing.
Reports that NASFAT, a Muslim society established in 1995, has been in the fore front for youth education as well as women and children welfare.
