The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun Command, said it would deploy 280 personnel for special operations during and after the Easter celebrations.
The Sector Commander, Mr Paul Okpe, made this known during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo on Wednesday.
According to Okpe, 280 officers, comprising Special Marshals and Regular Marshals, would be kept across corridors prone to accidents in the state.
“We shall deploy our men to corridors identified as black spot to help reduce any form of carnage on the highway.
“We shall be using our operational vehicles, heavy duty tow truck, ambulances and other safety equipment during the festivity to ensure the safety of every one,” he said.
Okpe said that the command had embarked on sensitisation rallies across motor parks and other parts of the state as well as visited religious and traditional rulers to urge them to enlighten their subjects.
He noted that officers of the command have been mobilised and would be deployed to oversee traffic activities on highways across the state.
The sector commander advised motorists to be safety conscience and obey traffic regulations during the festive period.
He, therefore, warned that any motorist caught violating the traffic rules during the special patrol operations would be forced to face the wrath of the law.
