Dr Ahmed Apatira, Chairman, Itire Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, has tasked new cabinet members of the LCDA to be loyal to the party and administration while discharging their constitutional duties.
Apatira gave the advice on Wednesday during the official inauguration of the newly political appointees and Supervisory Councilors within the council area.
According to him, the new cabinet members should discharge their duties responsibly to move the council forward and ensure that the party delivers the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots
“You all should endeavour to show utmost loyalty to the party and the administration at all time.
“The continuous success of my administration is now a collective responsibility from each and every one of us today as executive committee members of the council.
“This was after the successful screening of the newly appointed executive cabinet members by the legislative arm of the council I inaugurates the cabinet members for the progress of the LCDA,” he said.
The chairman called on the management staff of the council to extend their support to the newly appointed cabinet members.
He added that their roles in the governance of the council would oil the machinery of the government for effective service delivery.
Apatira congratulated the Secretary to the local government, Supervisors and Special Advisers for emerging from a large number of those who craved and aspired for the positions.
The council boss also urged them to respect the oath being administered to guarantee better management of human and material resources of the council.
He assured the new cabinet members that the current crop of management team of the council were the best to work with as they would have no issue with any of them.
Alhaji Safariyu-Ayinde Kushimo, the APC Chairman in Itire-Ikate LCDA, in his remarks congratulated all the new executive members on behalf of APC Leaders Forum in the LCDA.
Kushimo urged the new cabinet members to ensure that the mandates of the party were delivered to the people as the official duties began.
“You all should support the council chairman in ensuring that the aims and objectives of his administration is fulfilled for the benefit of the people in Itire-Ikate LCDA,” he said.
Mr Idris Oladipupo, the Leader of the Legislative Arm of the Council, in his remarks, said he was elated at the inauguration of the new cabinet members.
Oladipupo hailed the council chairman for exploring the Not Too Young to rule system by appointing the younger hands in his cabinet.
“The residents should expect more development at this point in time as the administration is ready to give the people the dividend of democracy.
“These are the tested and trusted people and will focus more on community and grassroots developments,” he said.
Mr Adewale Olori, a Councilor Representing “Sanusi Ward I” Itire Ikate LCDA, in his remarks, said that the new appointees would give full support to the administration.
According to him, the administration will focus more on youth empowerments to curb the social vices within the LCDA.
Mr Olaoluwa Agbeyangi, also a Councilor Representing “Karonwi Ogunsami” Ward in Itire Ikate LCDA, said that residents should expect more developments as new cabinet members were inaugurated.
Agbeyangi charged the community leaders and residents to give support to the administration to ensure growth and development in the LCDA.
Reports have it that Mr Kehinde Baruwa was appointed as Secretary to the Local Government with seven other supervisors and three Special Advisers to the Council Chairman.
