Assemblyman Sam Ngene, representing Enugu South Urban Constituency at the Enugu State House of Assembly, has reminded Christians of the need to love and sacrifice for their neighbours.
He said this in Enugu on Saturday in a statement to mark the Easter celebration.
He said the season should remind Christians of the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ towards humanity, which he exemplified through His death on the cross.
Ngene charged Christians in the state to put into practice lessons learnt during the Lenten season, promote peaceful co-existence as well as avoid things that could cause insecurity in Enugu state.
He urged the public to join hands with the administration of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to ensure that the state remained peaceful and to enable the state government to continue its developmental policies and programmes.
The Assemblyman tasked the people, especially the youth who had not registered or got their permanent Voter Cards, to do so on time.
He said this would enable them to vote for the candidates of their choice in the 2023 general elections.
Ngene wished Christians a stress-free Easter celebration, assured his constituency of quality representation adding that he would continue to protect the interest of Enugu South Urban at the state Assembly.
