The Music Director, Apostolic Faith Church Jabi, Abuja, Mrs Freddie Adesina, has admonished Christians to cling to Jesus to find true rest and happiness in marriages.
Adesina, a Christian mother, was reacting to the recent reoccurring reports of deaths in marriages as a result of domestic violence by spouses.
The music minister spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, after the Church’s 2022 Easter Retreat Concert with theme “I gave my life for thee.’’
Adesina said the concert was an annual spiritual programme organised by the Apostolic Faith Church to continually boost the well-being of Christians.
She said it featured Bible study, prayers, praise and worship and revival service.
“Many Christians professing the Christianity live in perpetual bondage due to fear, doubt and ignorance, including couples.”
“The events was used to check homes and families. When we do not see families and couples present, we ask questions and do follow-ups. It is necessary to establish a worship and prayer life and hold unto God,” she said.
She prayed for families experiencing any form turbulence to be healed adding that ”for this Easter season, the good news is that our saviour is risen and he is here to help us.
She noted that challenges were part of life, adding that in spite of them, extreme cases should be avoided, but one still had every reason to look up to Jesus.
According to her, healing and joy are guaranteed in Jesus. Christians should to draw near to Jesus Christ, as he is accessible.
“He has something to offer to all who truly come to him, including salvation, deliverance and healing. We cannot boycott Jesus Christ. We cannot do without Him if we are looking for rest in all aspects of life. True rest is only guaranteed in Jesus Christ. No one can do without him.”
‘‘The Lord did not bring us here on earth and for the programme to go away with nothing. I pray that the Lord will open our eyes and ears to hear and receive from Him. That is what God will do for you this Easter season,’’ she declared.
