The Police on Thursday, arraigned one Mustapha Usman, 41, in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly constituting public nuisance.
Usman, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and threatening violence.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Sikiru Ibrahim told the court that the defendant committed the offense on March 28, at about 3.00 p.m. at Idi-Ero Elewa village, off Eleyele Road, Ibadan.
Ibrahim said Usman conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by harassing one Ahmed Usman and his authorized agent, Joshua Abegunde.
He said the defendant also allegedly prevented them from entering their house located in the above-mentioned area.
According to him, the offense contravened Sections 249(D) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000, and 7(1) of the Real Property Law of Oyo State, 2016.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, S. A. Adesina, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 and one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until May 25 for a hearing.
