2023: Group drums support for Kwankwaso

A group, Movement for the Sustenance of Buhari Legacies (MSBL), says Dr Rabiu Kwankaso, a former governor of Kano State will meet the expectations of Nigerians if given the opportunity to lead the country in 2023.

Mr Muftau Hassan, the National Coordinator of the movement, told newsmen in Lagos on Saturday that Kwankaso was the most competent of all the presidential aspirants to move the country forward.

He described the former governor as an impactful leader, who gave a good account of himself while he was governor of Kano state and Minister of Defence.

Hassan said Kwankaso, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was the answer to the country’s challenges.

The coordinator said that though, members of the group belong to the APC, the group believed that competence, and not party affiliation, should determine the next president of Nigeria, hence its endorsement of Kwankaso.

He noted that all other presidential aspirants both in APC and PDP do not have Kwankwaso’s sterling qualities.

“Where do we look for redemption? After pondering for a long time, it is clear that the only option is Dr Musa Kwankaso from NNPP, a retired civil servant, a former governor of Kano State, a former Defence Minister, and a one-time member of the Senate.

“We realised that he is the only presidential aspirant that possesses the qualities to steer the affairs of the country at this trying period,” he said.

Hassan, who noted that President Muhammadu Buhari had tried his best to fulfill his campaign promises, said Kwankwaso would actualise the Nigeria of everyone’s dream if elected president.

He said Kwankwaso had the experience and the capacity to tackle the security challenges facing the country and would restore peace to Nigeria if elected.

According to the coordinator, the country needs someone like Kwankwaso to put the economy in shape.

“Kwankwaso did well as the governor of Kano. The state fared well when he was governor.

“He gave scholarships to students to study overseas, he did so much to ensure the state was secure and grew the state’s economy exponentially”, he said.

He described Kwankwaso as a patriotic Nigerian, committed to the progress of the country.

“Kwankwaso is faithful, loyal, and honest; he serves Nigeria with all his strengths, and defends her honour and glory.

“With these and many more, we hereby resolve to assiduously work towards the emergence of Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso as the next president of Nigeria,” he said.
