In a statement issued in Lagos, Apatira said that it was expected of youths in the area to henceforth be of good behaviour, stay away from trouble or have themselves to blame.

He said that the warning was necessitated by the recent unrest at Ogunsami Street and adjoining environs in the LCDA, where some suspects were arrested and immediately remanded at Ikoyi, Ijesha and Itire police stations.

“We warn potential troublemakers, hoodlums and men of the underworld to avoid engaging in unlawful activities as measures are in place to bring them to justice,” Apatira said.

According to him, his administration would continue to ensure the safety of lives and properties, before, during and after all festivities.

The council boss said that he expected cooperation from members of the public to provide useful information or reports suspicious movements in and around them to the law enforcement agencies.

He urged members of the public, irrespective of their political or community status, to put a stop to the habit of soliciting for pardon anytime suspects were apprehended by law enforcement agents.

Apatira said that security complaint phone numbers would be forwarded to the Community Development Committee (CDC) and Community Development Associations (CDA) within the local government area.

He said that the phone lines which would be made available to all law enforcement and security formations across the LCDA was to ensure prompt response and action whenever there was any case of emergency or distress.
