Mr Austine Beguwa, an aspirant for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has promised to offer effective and efficient representation for his people in 2023, if given the mandate.
Beguwa made the pledge on Wednesday while addressing newsmen at the party’s office in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to him, the need to improve the socio-economic well-being of the people and bring development to the area informed his decision to vie for the seat.
“My decision to run for this seat is based on the fact that my people are lagging behind when it comes to developmental projects.
“I want to bring development, progress and economic prosperity which the good people of Jema’a/Sanga have been yearning for all these years,” he added.
The House of Reps hopeful promised to bring his wealth of experience in the security sector to bear in achieving and maintaining lasting peace in the area.
“I believe that my educational background in security and strategy, coupled with my experience as a retired immigration officer, is a plus for the area.
“This is because it makes me well placed to contribute my quota to ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace in this axis as a whole.”
He also emphasised on giving priority to the health sector as well as programmes that would empower the youth and women and make them self-reliant.
He called on the party faithful not to mortgage their future and that of their children by selling their votes for money during the primaries.
On his chances of winning the party’s primary, Beguwa said that he was confident of clinching the ticket, given the enormous goodwill he enjoyed in the party and his growing popularity in the area.
“In everything I do, i trust God first. I trust in God that I will win and that is why I tagged my movement ‘God’s project’.
“Also, my candidacy is gaining wide acceptance both within and outside the party and this gives me the confidence that I will be victorious,’’ he said.
