Ms Ann Izi, All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta State House of Assembly aspirant for Ndokwa East Constituency, has assured the people of the state of better days ahead with an APC government in 2023.
Izi gave the assurance in a statement on Sunday in Abuja while alleging under-development in Delta under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“Our consolation, however, is that this dark night of retrogression and under-development in Delta, especially the myriad of challenges and hardships perpetuated on Ndokwa people will soon be a thing of the past,” she said.
She expressed gratitude to God Almighty “for giving the APC great leaders and advisers to pilot its affairs to victory and for steering the country in the right direction”.
The aspirant who is a fellow of Safety Professionals of Nigeria and popularly called Ada Ndoshimili, said her campaign slogan is “Happy Days are here”.
Izi urged the people to be politically conscious and elect APC candidates at all levels of government in the state to enthrone good government.
“Tough times don’t last, but tough people last, we will not limit Ndokwa East people and our great party to just the sky.
“We will rather fly higher not limiting ourselves by electing a candidate of the party who has what it takes to mobilise Ndoshimili to vote APC in the general elections at all levels of government,” she said.
According to Izi, “with the right candidate, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be voted out in the state at all levels of government in the coming elections.
“As I unfold my manifesto in the coming days, be rest assured that happy days are here,” she stressed.
She, however, advised the people of Ndokwa East to be determined more than ever before to break their personal and collective limits.
Izi, while promising a rancour-free campaign, said she is in the race to provide quality representation for the people of Ndokwa East Local Government Area.
She added that her focus would be youth and women empowerment as well as people-oriented programmes for the development of the area.
“To achieve this, we have committed ourselves, times and resources to ensure that we emerge victorious in the forthcoming House of Assembly primary election of our great party.
“The path to success follows defined principles, once the principles are ignored, then failures sets in.
“Therefore, we will go by the rules of the game to ensure a rancour-free campaign against other aspirants in the contest for our party’s ticket ahead of the election,” she said.
She added that after due consultations with elders and critical stakeholders of Delta APC, Chief Amechi Chime, the Otono of Aboh Kingdom, had been appointed as her campaign Director-General.
She said the names of other members of her campaign team would be made public shortly.
“Again, I wish to solicit for your prayers, endorsements and support in this electioneering campaign era,” she said.
Izi expressed optimism that she would emerge victorious in any free and fair election, adding that as a female, she has what it takes to turn the fortune of the people around for good.
Izi contested the Delta State House of Assembly election on the PDP platform in 2014 and 2018.
