A 36-year-old man, Kayode Oketunde was on Thursday, docked in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing musical equipment and other items worth N100,600.
The police charged Oketunde, whose address was not given, with theft, breaking in, and entering.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Nkem Nkor, told the court that the defendant committed the offenses on April 19, at about 1:00 a:m, on Morogbo Road, Magbon area of Lagos State.
Nkor alleged that the defendant unlawfully broke into the house of one Adunni Adeleye, the complainant, with the intent to commit a felony.
“The defendant stole a Sunwei generator valued at N85,000, half a bag of rice valued at N15,000, and two electrical bulbs valued at N600. The total value of all the property stolen is N100,600,” the prosecutor said.
The offenses contravened the provisions of sections 307 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000, with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaiya adjourned the case until June 13, for further mention.
