A sale representative, Monday Obekpa, was on Tuesday docked in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing phone accessories, worth N7.5 million
Obekpa was charged with conspiracy and theft.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Benson Emuerhi, told the court that Obekpa and some persons at large committed the offence, sometime in 2019 to 2022, at Spectrum Phones Accessories Warehouse, at No. 18, Otigba St., Computer Village, Lagos.
Emuerhi alleged that he stole the items worth N7.5 million, kept in the warehouse belonging to Spectrum Innovation Technologies
He said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Section 287 stipulates three years imprisonment for stealing, while Section 411 prescribes two years for conspiracy.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Layinka, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Layinka said that the sureties should be gainfully employed with evidence of three years of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until June 6, for mention.
