The Provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ekiti Seven, Mr Gabriel Adarabioyo, has admonished Nigerians, especially Christian faithful to strive to exhibit the virtues of love, forgiveness, and humility.
Adarabioyo made the call at the Special Prayer service for peaceful coexistence in the country on Sunday at Jesus Embassy, the provincial headquarters, Ado-Ekiti.
The cleric, who tagged his sermon: “Let These Minds Be in You”, citing from the Holy Bible, Philippians 2:5-8, decried the lack of love among the citizens of the country.
He, therefore, prayed for spiritual heart surgery for Nigerians, especially the Christian faithful, for a new heart of genuine love, forgiveness, humility, endurance,, and obedience to make the country a better place for all and sundry.
Adarabioyo clarified that because, mankind, especially the Christian faithful has failed to exhibit the minds of Jesus Christ, who, even at the point of nailing Him to the cross showed love by praying for forgiveness for His persecutors.
“In the minds of Christ, there is no bribe, no unforgiveness, no killing, no jealousy, and no pride among others.
“Enough is enough of killings, kidnapping, and other challenges currently faced by our dear country.
“Citizens must aspire for new hearts that will promote love, forgiveness, peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, irrespective of our socio-political, religious beliefs, and ethnic diversity,” Adarabioyo said.
Quoting from the Book of John 14:1-4, he added that ”except a man or woman has the minds of Christ, he or she is only a churchgoer, and there is no hope of eternity for such an individual.
“There must be heart surgery, we must drop all iniquities before we can enjoy the minds of Christ, I pray for a new mind for Nigerians.”
He said, many citizens, especially the youths cannot endure, adding; “the Holy Bible, Philippians 2:10 admonishes us that is why the get-rich-quick syndrome is common among citizens of the nation.
“There is no more virtue of endurance, that is why there is ”Yahoo, yahoo” among the youths. Godliness with contentment is the antidote to sins.
“Endure holiness, purity, whether things are sweet or sour, an end must come one day,” the pastor added.
