A two-time contender, Mr Noheem Balogun, has clinched the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for Epe Federal Constituency with a difference of one vote.
Balogun polled 27 votes to beat his rival, Mr Ayinde Abubakar-Damilare, who had 26 votes at the election held inside Salako Hall in Epe.
The election result was announced by the Returning Officer, Mr Shakiru Adegbite, who declared Balogun the winner.
Adegbite described the election as keenly- contest.
The primary election was first held across the state on May 22 but was cancelled.
Speaking after the election, Balogun stated that the contest was tough.
He thanked his supporters, and appealed to all PDP members in the constituency to join hands to ensure victory for the party in the 2023 general elections.
NAN reports that accreditation for the election started at 7:15 p.m.
The result was announced at 9:25 p.m.
