Pastor Oluwagbemileke (Leke) Adeboye, son of Enoch Adeboye, the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide (RCCG) General Overseer, has inaugurated and donated a borehole to a

community in Mushin, Lagos State.

According to him, this is to ensure access to clean, healthy potable water by the people of the community.

The inauguration of the borehole was part of activities to celebrate his 40th birthday, with the theme “Shining The Light”, which was marked with extravagant praise and thanksgiving ministrations concert in Mushin.

The event, which held at the Bishop Aggey Secondary School field, Mushin, Lagos, was organised by the wife of the celebrant, Pastor Titi Adeboye.

Leke Adeboye, the last male child of  the General Overseer of  RCCG, was born on May 20,1982 when the Adeboye family resided in Mushin.

He  is the Principal Executive Assistant to the General Overseer of RCCG and also the Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Province (CSR), RCCG Youth Province 1.

He is also the Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Living Seed Church (LSC) known as the “Bridge”; a vibrant youth Church under Youth Province 1, as well as the global Coordinator of RCCG Pastors Seeds Family.

Speaking with NAN, Adeboye said it was a nostalgic experience for him having grown up in Mushin.

“I was born and raised here a while before my family relocated to Ogun State.

“Mushin is where I and my brother Dare started life before he departed this world. May his humble soul rest in peace, Amen.

“Also this is the place where the Mission RCCG General Overseer, my father, lived while he was based in Lagos. So I considered it necessary to come back home to impact my people; you must not forget your source.’’

Giving insights into his motive for giving the community a borehole, Adeboye emphasised the importance of water and explained that clean water is indispensable to everyone.

“Making it easily accessible to the people is necessary for healthy living and for tackling health challenges such as cholera, COVID-19.

“Some of us understand that coming all the way from where we come from, any help we can get, we will take it.

“So borehole, school uniforms and improving the lives of the people are the least we can give.

“Now, as God has helped some of us to get some opportunities, the least we can do is to try and support our own people. This is the commandment of God and that’s the basis of what we are doing here today”, he told NAN.

According to the cleric, the events for his 40th birthday is the debut outreach of his CSR programmes..

Highlights of the event included presentation of prizes to the winners of a football competition organised by the celebrant.

The gold medalist received a cheque of N150,000.00, while the silver medalist got N100.000.00 cheque.

Medical services including general medical checkup, eye check and donation of free medical glasses to people in need were carried out.

Also 40 uniforms and 40 school bags were given out to 40 school children at the event.

Sequel to the grand ruby jubilee celebration was a private gathering of top RCCG executives at the residence of the celebrant.

Some of those who attended included Pastor J.O. Obayemi, the National Overseer of RCCG (Nigeria) and Pastor J.F. Odesola, the Special  Assistant to the General Overseer (Admin & Personnel).

Also, Pastor J. Adeyokunnu, the Financial Controller of RCCG; Pastor Kunle Ajayi; Rev. Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, Founder of the Love of Christ Generation Church C&S (Worldwide).

Pastor Adeolu Adeboye, elder brother to the celebrant and Pastor Bisi Akande, Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Youth Province 1 were also there.

Several dignitaries at the event recalled memorable moments with Adeboye.

They recognised him as a faithful servant of God with a philanthropic heart; a friend to both the high and the lowly and an exemplary leader who is very passionate about lifting others.
