CEO tasks M&E officers in Yola on standard practices

Mr Aliyu Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Institute, Abuja, has advised Adamawa M&E officers on the need for standard practice to ensure transparency, accountability and effectiveness.

Aliyu made the call on Thursday at a four-day training for 20 Adamawa M&E officers organised by the United State Agency International Development (USAID) in Yola.

He said: “Abiding by the standard practice would help citizens to get positive results of what government is doing for the citizens in their respective places.”

“This training will increase knowledge on data collection, analysis and reporting using standard M&E tools, hence the need for participants to apply concept of result-based management,” he said.

According to him, with the training, participants will be able to implement state development plan successfully and at the end of the day, result base on M&E will be achieved.

“Whatever you are doing you must ensure to have solid foundation.

“If you organise yourself and work together, you will achieve best results,” he said.

Reports have it that the participants were drawn from Adamawa Planning Commission, Bureau for Public Procurement, Ministries of Finance, Health, Education and Water Resources.

Others include the state’s Universal Basic Education, Board of Internal Revenue, and Primary Healthcare Development Agency
